Yapacopia is redefining how people find and purchase insurance. Our system is a win-win-win for customers-brokers-nonprofits. Customers get an exceptional broker and process guided by our proprietary system. Each quote or review request is carefully managed. Every client and their broker get continuous prompts from our system. The customer gets these by email, our brokers get them through our custom apps on IOS and Android.

This customer care continues until the client gets a new policy or tells the broker they no longer need assistance.  Brokers are only charged a fee when they successfully find insurance for the customer. Our partner nonprofit, United Policyholders, receives support from us as a Platinum Sponsor. Customer wins, local insurance brokers win, our nonprofit partner wins.

Founded

Yapacopia, a Public Benefit Corporation founded in 2014 by Chris McCloy, is built on a simple idea: insurance should protect people—and strengthen the communities they live in.

Chris McCloy brings decades of experience in finance, insurance, and business development. Over the course of his career, he saw firsthand how complex and fragmented insurance can be for individuals, families, and small businesses. He also recognized an opportunity to do more—by creating an insurance service that gives back to nonprofits impacting those communities.

Yapacopia was created to expand that vision. By bringing together a network of trusted agencies and brokers on one platform, Yapacopia makes it easier for clients to find the right coverage while increasing access, efficiency, and service capacity. At the same time, the model helps direct support to nonprofit organizations and local communities.

Mission and scope

United Policyholders’ mission is to serve as a trustworthy resource and effective voice for consumers of all types of insurance. The organization promotes fair treatment by insurers and helps policyholders secure the benefits they have paid for. Its programs reach individuals in all 50 states, offering tools for recovery after accidents, disasters, or other insured losses.
